YOUNGSTERS from a junior sports team have raised £155 for charity Help For Heroes.
Members of Ackworth Allstars Pumas U8s raised the cash through a variety of fundraising efforts, including serving hot dogs and running tuck shops on match days, and baking cakes to raffle off.

They handed over the cash to Signaller Gareth Hulin, who visited the team from his current posting in Bath, where he is stationed before starting a tour of Afghanistan.

Team coach Gareth Cope said: “It was the children’s idea to give the money to Help For Heroes – they were asked to pick a worthy charity and they decided on that one.”
