Ashley Guest took over the reins from current pastor Brian Donner at Ackworth Community Church on April 1 and a joint induction and retirement service will be held on Sunday, April 19.

since it was founded in 1991.

The 41-year-old said: "I am looking forward to working in Ackworth and being able to maintain and develop our links with many people around the village.
"We have always sought to be a place where people can come to find a welcome, friendship and ultimately experience and get to know God's love."

Friends and families of the church are invited to attend the joint ceremony, to be held at the Bell Lane parish rooms in Ackworth where the congregation meets.
Brian Donner, 65, added: "It has been a delight for my wife, Linda, and I to work with this lovely church fellowship and the people of Ackworth.
"We know that Ashley has a heart for the people here and we wish him every blessing and success as he continues to build relationships in the village, both old and new."
