STAFF from Castleford's Ash Tree Children's Centre shared their favourite stories with young bookworms on World Book Day.
They visited Castleford’s St Joseph’s RC Primary, Wheldon Infant, Glass Houghton Infant and Smawthorne Henry Moore Primary schools to read a book to the children and organised picture-making activities related to the story.

Mandy Mattison, of the centre, said: “The staff then produced a book for each school, containing all the children’s work. These were presented to each of the schools.”

For more information about the children’s centre – which has services and activities for families with youngsters under five – call 01977 723012 or visit www.wakefield.gov.uk/childrenscentres.
