DANCING queen Amelia Pugh has waltzed off with a top national prize.
The eight-year-old, of East Down, Castleford, performed a rumba, quick step, paso doble and tango to win the girls’ six-eight age category rosette at the nationwide competition at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

The talented youngster – who has been dancing since she was three and is a pupil at Castleford School of Dance – was awarded a place in the competition after winning the title of medalist of the year at a regional competition last September.

Her delighted mum Andrea, who perfomed the routines with her, said: “We’re so proud of Amelia, and hope she keeps up the hard work. We’d like to thank her dance teacher for her support.”
