HUNDREDS of sports fans flocked to a celebration to mark the tenth anniversary of the opening of Castleford Panthers' clubhouse.
A day of entertainment – including indoor laser quest, an army climbing wall, human table football match, performances from bands and appearances from local Super League stars – pulled in the crowds at the Methley Road RL club on Saturday.
Enid Hepworth, chairman, said: "It was absolutely fantastic and extremely well supported. It was brilliant to see Castleford Tigers' coach Terry Matterson and some of the players down here, as well as their mascot JT.
"The bands were incredible, and there was a phenomenal performance by a local youngster, Jack Walton, who is only 11.
"There must have been 500-600 people down at the ground. It was a brilliant way to celebrate ten years of our clubhouse."
Castleford Panthers formed in the 1970s but moved into its present clubhouse in 1998, thanks to National Lottery funding.
Since then the club has gone from strength to strength and now has 17 teams.
