ROCKERS will storm the stage at The Lion pub in Castleford's last roaring annual charity event.
The Aire Street pub will host the all day Lionfest on Sunday August 24 and it is expected to be the final one as a multi-storey car park is to be built on the outside stage area.

Cash raised in the musical treat is donated to help keep the Yorkshire Air Ambulance flying.

Landlady Julie Lockwood said: “We’ve been running Lionfest for around 15 years so it’s very sad to think that this could be last one.

“We all want to go out on a high and raise as much money as possible for the air ambulance.

“Over the years we’ve collected thousands of pounds and we’d like to carry on, so we’re hoping to find some kind of solution for next year.”

Record crowds are expected to turn out for the Lionfest, which starts at 1pm.

Nine bands including the Twin Lizzy Experience, Go Commando, True Brit and Broken Angel are due to appear.
