CASTLEFORD Tigers' stars faced an unlikely opponent last week when they tackled an eight-and-a-half ton digger.
The team was challenged to take part in a tug-of-war with the machine to mark the official opening of new Castleford theme park, Diggerland - where children and adults can drive real diggers.

Tamara Bent, PR manager for Diggerland said: “The event went really well and the tug-of-war was a great success, obviously with Tigers winning. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.”

Mayor of Wakefield Coun Jacquie Williams performed the official opening at the Willowbridge Lane theme park, watched by around 300 local people.
