CASTLEFORD Tigers' chiefs told fans about the club's ambitious plans for the future at a meeting on Monday.
Hundreds of supporters packed into Castleford Civic Centre to hear officials reveal the contents of the club's bid to win a three-year Super League licence which it submitted at the end of March and the latest news on its proposed move to a new multi-million pound stadium in Glass Houghton.

Richard Wright, chief executive, said: "I thought the meeting went really well. There was a big turn out and the civic centre was packed.
"The presentation went through each aspect of our application for a Super League licence step by step – facilities, finance and business management, commercial, marketing and community, and playing strength and player performance strategy.

"Obviously, there was quite a lot to do with the stadium and there was a presentation from the developer, Waystone, with some new visual images to show what it's going to look like and how it will fit in with the rest of Glass Houghton.
"At the moment earthworks are taking place at the site to create the plateau for the stadium and business park.

"One of the next steps is to get the design team to put forward a detailed planning application. We'd like a stadium with a capacity of around 15,000 and hope to be able to move in by 2010.
"The meeting was very positive and demonstrated how professional we are as a club."

In November last year, a planning committee at Wakefield Council granted outline planning permission for a new stadium and business park at the Glass Houghton site.
Coun Denise Jeffery, cabinet member for regeneration, culture and sport, who was at the meeting, said: "There must have been more than 600 fans there – it lasted three hours and people were standing in the gallery. It was marvellous to see so many people had come to hear the club's plans. I hope they will all support the plans for the new stadium."
