King’s School reunion event

1966 was a memorable year, England beat West Germany 4-2 to win the World Cup, The Beatles played their very last concert, the Moors murderers were sentenced to life imprisonment and the Aberfan disaster sadly claimed 144 lives in South Wales.

1966 was also the year that approximately 90 wide-eyed 11 year-old boys travelled far and wide across the district to start their first term at the Kings’ School, Pontefract.

Those lads are now all 57 and a lot of water has passed under their respective bridges since.

If you were one of those lads or if you are a relative of one, or even if you had the misfortune to teach any of us, then please get in touch.

We are hoping to have a small get together on Saturday June 16 to have our own “57 Up”.
