Our voting features will start on Thursday 12th September and each feature will display a different age group of children. After the first round of votes, you will be able to vote for your top 30, to 20, top 10 and finally your winner!
Instructions of how to vote are below. Please note, text lines will not open before the publication of the first vote feature. If your child does not make it through to the next round but you continue to vote for your child, your vote will not be counted but you may still be charged for your vote.

What happens after my child has their photo taken?
After your child has had their photo taken, our team will be busy putting all the photographs into features that will appear in the paper. There will be four features – one for each age category. Please see above for details of the first feature and when you can expect it to appear in the newspaper.
Do I need to buy a photo to enter the competition?
You do not need to buy a photo to enter the competition; however, all photographs will be available for sale through the newspaper and our dedicated website. Please see full photo sales details above.
How do I order extra copies of the newspaper on the feature dates?
Contact the newspaper team who will be able to advise you how to order extra copies of the newspaper.
Who chooses which photograph goes into the newspaper?
The photographer will select the best possible image for the newspaper. Parents/guardians will not be able to select a specific image.
What happens if my SMS (text message) vote does not go through?
If you try to vote by text message and it does not work, please check that you have followed the instructions carefully, including any spaces that need to be left between keywords. If you are still having problems, please contact the newspaper who will find out what the problem is.
How many times can I vote for my child?
You can vote as many times as you like for any child. If you are voting by text message, your network provider may cap messages after you have spent over £30.00. If this happens, you must contact your network operator. This year, we are giving you a free vote for every two votes that you submit by text message. Vote twice and receive the third vote at the price of your standard network message.
Where do I send my vote coupons?
Please send your vote coupons to Johnston Press, PO BOX 316, Rossendale, BB4 0DU. Please note, this is a special mailbox set up for vote coupons. If you send your coupon to the newspaper it will not be counted.
Can I enter more than one of my children?
You can enter as many of your children as you like. Each child must be entered separately and each must have their own entry coupon. Entry coupons are printed in the newspaper until the end of July – keep your eye out and don’t miss your chance to enter.
Will I be notified if my child makes it through to the next round?
We will contact you via the email address or telephone number that you provide on your entry coupon. Please ensure you fill these coupons out fully.
How many winners will there be?
We have three final rounds – top 30, top 20 and top 10, printed in the newspaper on consecutive weeks. After this, there will only be one winner of Cute Kids 2013!
How long do I have to vote for each round?
From the day that the voting feature is published, you will have four days to submit your vote. We must receive your vote coupons within this four day period or they will not be counted. If you are concerned about your coupon vote reaching us in time, we would recommend voting by text message as this is an instant way of voting.
