AS thousands lined the streets of Castleford to say goodbye to fallen hero Rifleman James Backhouse, the town learned another of its sons had been killed in Afghanistan.
Dad-of-one Bombardier Craig Hopson, 24, who was serving in the 40th Regiment Royal Artillery, died in an explosion while on a vehicle patrol in the Babaji area of the Helmand province on Saturday July 25.

Devastating news of the courageous soldier's death stunned the town as 2,000 residents united in grief to say farewell to 18-year-old James at a military funeral on Monday.
