FEATHERSTONE sweethearts Jack and Alma Paver will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary on Saturday.
The couple, of Priordale Road, will toast 60 years of marriage with friends and family during a party at Featherstone Rovers’ social club.

They started courting after Jack asked Alma to the cinema and they later married at Featherstone’s St Thomas’ Church.

The couple – who have always lived in the town – have four children, seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild.

On the secret to their happy marriage, Alma said: “You have to pull together and make it work. I don’t necessarily think there is a secret to it.

“We’re really looking forward to the party – all our friends and family will be there.

“We’ve been very happy for 60 years.”
