YOUNGSTERS had food for thought at a healthy eating initiative in Featherstone.
More than 200 school pupils bit into a series of lessons on nutrition at Featherstone Rovers’ Study Rovers learning centre.

Rovers’ stars James Binks and Craig Bower also put children through their paces with a fitness session in the workshops, sponsored by Warburton’s bakers.

Mr Binks said: “It’s great to be part of a healthy eating programme which gets local youngsters thinking about what’s good for them.

“We help children understand the principles of healthy eating and encourage them to take small steps to becoming fit and active."

Tom Sugden, of Warburton’s, added: “This is a fantastic initiative which educates children in a fun way.

“We hope that these sessions will steer children in the direction of making healthy decisions.”
