Mum blasts prison sentence

A MUM whose son was left fighting for his life in intensive care after a horror hit-and-run has slammed the driver's prison sentence.
David Picken, 23, of Streethouse, suffered three breaks to his right arm, a fractured wrist, shoulder and pelvis and was left with tyre marks on his body after mindless Karl Wilson, 21, ploughed a van into him and his friend Lee Newby, 20, in a case of mistaken identity.


Wilson, of Aketon Road, Castleford, was jailed for two years at Leeds Crown Court on Monday, after admitting two offences of wounding and a charge of dangerous driving.
