A QUEST to find the mystery woman in a historic snapshot came up trumps when the lady in question brought the photograph back to life.
Robert Matthews and partner Lizzie Rennocks appealed in the Express for information about a woman pictured hugging Rob's late father Sgt Bob Matthews after Featherstone Rovers' triumphant victory at Wembley in 1967.

Joyce Howard, of Horsefair, Pontefract, came forward and recreated the picture with Robert at Rovers' 40-26 win over Dewsbury on Sunday.
The 82-year-old said: "When I saw the Express appeal I shouted 'that's me' and just couldn't believe it.

"In the old picture I'm hugging Sgt Matthews at the moment we won. He was lovely and we had a laugh. I got in touch with his son Robert and it was wonderful to meet up – Rovers won too so Sunday was perfect."
Sgt Matthews, who policed his Featherstone beat from 1963-8, died of cancer last year, aged 81.

His death sparked son Robert's mission to prove one of his dad's favourite stories about appearing in a national newspaper was true.
Partner Lizzie, of Dinnington, said: "We made it our quest and it took a lot of detective work. After contacting archives and papers we found a cutting from the Daily Express.

"We made the local appeal after wondering if the mystery lady was still around – it was amazing to get a response.Joyce is a lovely character and we had a great time reliving old memories."
The couple also thanked Terry Jones at Featherstone Rovers for his help and invitation to the match.
