PLANS to transform Featherstone's Priory Park will be on show in a bus tour around the town.
The new designs – including climbing rocks, a youth shelter, children’s play area and log sculptures – will be displayed at several stops in a special roadshow between January 25-29.

Community groups have campaigned for council chiefs to improve t
he Priory Road park after its old play equipment was removed nearly two years ago.

Featherstone Town Council, Groundwork Wakefield and Wakefield and District Housing, with Wakefield Council, have developed the park’s final designs, which also include new planting areas.

The next step is to apply for funding before building work can start.

The Priory Park roadshow’s first stop is from 3-4.15pm at the Wakefield and District Housing office, Wakefield Road, on Friday January 25.

It will then move to Priory Park between 4.30-6pm.

On Saturday, the bus will call at the rear of Featherstone Library, Victoria Street, from 9am to 11am and then at Priory Park between 11.15am to 1pm.

The roadshow will also be on Verner Street from 3-4.15pm, and in the St Oswald’s Arms car park, Priory Road, from 4.30-6pm on Tuesday January 29.
