FUNDRAISING was thirsty work for pupils at North Featherstone's All Saints' CE Junior and Infant School.
Kind-hearted youngsters at the North Close school drank water from 200 bottles, donated by Asda, and filled them with cash to help stop diseases caused by drinking contaminated water in The Gambia on charity Unicef's Day of Change.

Pamela Croft, head teacher, said: "The children raised a staggering £740.16. They really enjoyed drinking the water and then they asked family and friends to help them fill the empty bottles with money.

"All the bottles were emptied into a massive tap which flowed money for The Gambia.

"The children were very proud of their efforts to make a difference and help others and I'd like to give a big thank you to the parent volunteers who counted the money."
