A CHEERLEADING squad has issued a call for fresh recruits to help cheer on Featherstone Rovers in National League One.
Girls aged up to 13 in the Featherstone Rovers’ Lioness cheerleaders perform toe-tapping dance routines and chants to spur RL stars to victory at the Post Office Road club.

But the group is appealing for new volunteers – paticularly older ones – to swell their ranks.

Mum Paula Willis, who helped launch the squad three years ago, said: “We’re searching for about 12 new members and would love some older girls, aged up to about 17, to come forward, especially as Rovers are now in National League One.

“Ideally, we’d like to have two age groups.

“The cheerleaders perform at half time in home games and have a lot of fun, anybody interested in joining or sponsoring us should get in touch.”

The group meets at Rovers’ Chris Moyles Stadium on Post Office Road, Featherstone, every Wednesday. For more details telephone Paula Willis on 01977 796637.
