A HARDWORKING school has been given the stamp of quality for the fourth time.
Streethouse Junior and Infant School has been awarded the Basic Skills Quality Mark (BSQM) once again for its high standards in English and maths.

The award – which last for three years – was presented to the school by Ned Ratcliffe, a regional BSQM representative, who was shown around by the school’s head boy Carlton Armstrong, 11, and head girl Emma Shaw.

Headteacher Charlotte Clerehugh said: “It’s fantastic that our hard work has been recognised and celebrated.

“It’s mainly to do with basic reading, writing and maths. We ensure every child has made the appropriate progress through giving support to those who struggle and pushing those who don’t. We involved parents who support their children.

“We have worked really hard as a team. It has been the whole school – children, parents and teachers – who have been involved in this.”
