FEATHERSTONE author and television presenter Ian Clayton is inviting people to join him in a historic tour of the town.
The free trip will tell visitors the story of the Featherstone Massacre in 1893 – when demonstrators James Gibbs and James Duggan were killed by military troops opening fire on mining protestors after a riot.
The event was thought to be the last time the Riot Act was read in England.

The tour takes place between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday March 5.
For more details, or to book a place, contact Lorna Malkin at Castleford Heritage Trust on 01977 520707.
