RESIDENTS in Knottingley are invited to change their lives by joining a new 13-week health and fitness course.
The weekly sessions – which start on Tuesday February 5 from 10.30-11.30am – aim to give people the information and motivation to make healthy changes to their lives.
Kerry Murphy, community development worker at Wakefield District Primary Care Trus
t will run the course with food and health worker Carrie Fennell.
Kerry said: "We know that this time of year is a good time for people to start to look at making healthy changes to their lives. The course is a great opportunity for those people wanting to learn more about losing weight and getting fit.
"We have designed the course to be friendly, informal and hands-on as well as a lot of fun. "Hopefully by the end of the course the group members will be equipped with all the information they need to become healthier and fitter for life."
The sessions will look at understanding food labelling, what a balanced diet is and how to make changes to increase your physical activity.
The course is open to men and women of all age groups. It costs £1 per session and is held at Warwick Community Group, 9 Pinewood Place, Knottingley.
For more information, contact Carrie or Kerry on 01977 604398 or go to the first session.
