CUTSYKE Community Group has always worked in partnership with Wakefield Council to make changes that are beneficial to our community.
I have the greatest respect for our local councillors and the agencies we also work with – Groundwork Wakefield, Wakefield District Housing and the Primary Care Trust are just a few.
When Channel 4 came along, Wakefield Council was brave in letting
the cameras in as meetings and anything to do with the projects was filmed. There are hours of film that will never be seen and what you did see was a watered down version.

One group of people that worked on this project and hasn't had any credit is the council officers – Alan Smith, Julian Ellis, Andy Golding, Andy Sheppard, Mark Mills, Claire Secker, Maggie Thompson and Tim Wheeler. They had to come up with answers to whatever the steering group threw at them and they did it. This project owes them a big thank you.
I have thanked Wakefield Council for working with our group to make Cutsyke a better place to live. We haven't got there yet, there is still more to do, but we will get there, so we will continue to work in partnership with Wakefield Council and other agencies.

We are residents of Cutsyke, it is our village. Our input is vital, but we need the expertise that agencies can deliver.
Responsibility is a big word and as citizens of Wakefield are we responsible for what happens down the road or do we just sit in our chairs and let the world go by or should we be getting involved and making our place a better and safer place to live?
