COULD someone tell me what we are paying road tax for?
The condition of the roads in Pontefract is disgusting. I live in Nevison and Ferrybridge Road is more like a lunar landscape complete with craters, some of which are at least five inches deep, one part looks like a wheeltrim cemetary where they have been lost due to the crumbling Tarmac.

The top of Water Lane is just as bad. I lifted a lump to the side of the road so as not to cause any serious accidents.

Now come on Wakefield Council, what's going to be cheaper – compensation payouts of taxpayers' money or some repairs? And it's not just due to the recent weather, these roads have been in a poor state since last winter.

only last week did i hit a pothole on the way out of pontefract damaging my tyre my wheel and front suspension and cracked my front bumper it was that deep.Thankfully the day after reporting it they had filled it in before anyone else hit it.You can report it and make a claim on the wdc website and strong urge anyone who hits one to do so,then maybe they might do something about it
