OVER the years the fireworks where I live have become a nuisance.
Last year when I watched television on bonfire night it was on full volume, with windows rattling.
This year however it's been a bit of a damp squib, this I assume is due to the current recession. It is well known there are pluses and minuses with most things in life. This is definitely a big plus as far as I'm concerned.

Fireworks should be banned for the sale to the general public, these powerful explosives have been used to blow up telephone boxes in the past by vandals.
Well done David Moon, he's right on the nail in his letter (Express November 6). Our true sentiments wouldn't get published, we have to skirt round the truth.
