HURRAY, during the past few days I've seen the tanker that is used to empty the gulley pots at the side of the road.
I had a word with the operators and was told that it is impossible for them to clear the gulleys that were filled with tar in July 1995, when Womersley Road and Sycamore Avenue were resurfaced with liquid tar and chippings. Unlike the roads down Ferrybridge where most of Knottingley's councillors live.

They didn't have to contend with walking on chippings left all over the pavement for months on end.
Maybe they should consider getting in proper contractors to resurface our roads, instead of cowboys. Little wonder that low lying land floods easy when a large percentage of the gulleys are blocked up.

With all the road works that have gone on in the past few years around Knottingley the roads hold surface water even without blocked gulleys.
