A WOMAN who remembers the sinking of the Titanic, the reign of Edward VII and World War One has celebrated her 105th birthday.
Alice Wright, of Allerton Bywater, marked the occasion during a party with her son, Eric, and friends at Bywater Hall care home on Tuesday.
Sue Sharp, manager, said: "Alice had a wonderful day. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to her, we made her a cake and gave her a massive bouquet of flowers.

"We also cooked a special birthday meal for her and her family.
"You wouldn't believe she's 105 – she looks great and has beautiful skin. She was living on her own until she was 103.
"It's been a fantastic celebration. Alice couldn't stop smiling."
Mrs Wright was born in Harehills, Leeds, on October 14, 1903.

"She left school at the age of 13 to work in the packing department of Imperial Laundries in Burley, Leeds, and remained with the company for her working life.
Her husband Frederick was a maintenance forman at the Yorkshire Copper Works in Stourton and the couple had one son.
