CROONER Ray Quinn (right) had a 6,000-strong crowd swooning in his special Mother's Day performance at Castleford Tigers' stadium.
Families flocked to watch the star of reality talent show X-Factor belt out hits new and old in a 20-minute set before Tigers took on the Harlequins on Sunday.
Darren Payne, entertainments manager at the Wheldon Road club, said: “It was an exceptional event.
“Ray signed autographs for youngsters who’d won a competition to meet him and brought his dog along, which proved to be a big hit.
“We had a lot of mums coming along, and when he took to the pitch he was joined by our cheerleaders and winter camp youngsters.”
Popular Liverpudlian performer Ray is the latest top act to storm The Jungle after Tigers bosses announced they were increasing pre-match entertaiment on their return to the Super League.
Former Sugababes star Mutya Buena performed at the stadium in February and club chiefs are now selecting another star to appear.
Mr Payne added: “We want to provide as much top notch entertainment as we possibly can to give value for money to all our fans.
“Our next meeting will decide the next act to appear before a match. We’re very excited about this season.”
