New Adsa store opens

SHOPPERS flocked to a celebration to mark the opening of a new Asda in Glass Houghton.
Entertainment from a DJ, cheerleaders, jugglers and balloon modellers wowed the crowds before the grand opening at 10am on Monday.


Youngsters from Castleford's Smawthorne Henry Moore Primary School released more than 200 balloons while the store's longest serving employee, Andrew Slatcher, opened the doors to the Leeds Road supermarket.
Russell Gamble, store manager, said: "There was a real party atmosphere. It was great to see so many people from the community there."
