THRILLED pupils and staff at Ferrybridge Infant School are jumping for joy after receiving a glowing Ofsted report.
Inspectors who visited Hampden Close school rated it as “outstanding” or “good” in all areas – and gave special praise to the children for their “excellent” behaviour.
The report said: “The very high levels of care and guidance ensure pupils’ personal development is excellent. This is also supported by the outstanding quality of teaching and learning in key stage one and the good progress that pupils make in all aspects of their work.”
Inspectors found that standards in reading, writing and maths were above local and national averages and parents are well-informed about their child’s progress.
Elaine Murthick, head teacher, said: “We are delighted that the report acknowledges the excellent work that is going on in our school. We place a great deal of emphasis on developing the whole child, and the “outstanding” grades given for personal development, care guidance and support and teaching reflects the commitment of staff and pupils to develop independent and life-long learners. We are proud of our staff and the high achievements we continue to maintain.”
