ANIMAL-mad youngsters learned how to look after all creatures great and small in a special lesson.
Veterinary nurse Jonathan Sherwood, of Wakefield’s Vets 4 Pets firm, demonstrated pet cleaning, exercises and health checks on his dog Sheeba for children at Three Lane Ends Primary School in Castleford last week.
Year two teacher Julie Burrows said: “Every pupil absolutely loved it and asked lots of questions.
“Jonathan brought in X-rays of animals and spoke about making sure your pets are healthy, as well as washing your hands before handling them.
“The visit was part of our school projects in animal welfare and citizenship.”
