DAREDEVILS can launch themselves from the roof of Xscape next month and raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The charity is appealing for thrillseekers to take the plunge by sliding along a zip wire from the roof of the Glass Houghton complex.

Maria Amos, Wakefield fundraising manager, said: “Zippers will slide a line from a specially created hatch at the top of the building more than 100ft up and will go 800ft down to the very end of the car park. It’s a once in a lifetime chance to do something special.”

The event takes place on September 6 and 7 between 9am and 5pm and there is a £10 registration fee. Anyone interested in taking part can contact the Wakefield fundraising office on 01924 232440 or email xscapezip@macmillan.org.uk for more information.
