Celebrate town with pictures

editorial image

Townsfolk in Castleford are being encouraged to bring in their pictures of the town as part of a new exhibition at Bridge Arts.

Celebrating Castleford starts on Monday with an exhibition of pictures from local photographers, but Castleford Heritage Trust, which is organising the event, wants people from across the town to bring in their own shots. Mandy Williamson, manager at Bridge Arts, said: “We are inviting everyone to bring in photos they have taken of Castleford, photos that celebrate the landscape, buildings, favourite places, secret or forgotten places, favourite people, friends, colleagues, family and pets. As well as bringing pictures to the gallery at Bridge Arts, people can share their pictures via Facebook and Twitter. Mandy added: “By using our Facebook page we hope to reach a wider audience, encouraging young people to look around them and celebrate Castleford”
