A market trader who murdered his 73-year-old mother-in-law and business partner is facing a life sentence.

David Hill, 48, of Lakeside Meadows, Pontefract, bludgeoned Molly Wright over the head at her home in Castleford.

He left her on the floor in a pool of blood and returned minutes later and feigning shock at her death, Leeds Crown Court heard.

A jury took six hours to find the greetings card seller unanimously guilty of murder.

He is due to be sentenced tomorrow.
