PETROLHEADS can get their fix of auto action at this weekend's annual vehicle show in Ackworth.

Hundreds of trucks, tractors, cars and other motors will roll into the village's water tower fields off the A628 for the Ackworth Steam and Historic Vehicle Show on Saturday May 10 - Sunday May 11.

Last year's event was dampened by heavy rain and organisers hope to avoid wallowing in mud this time.

Show organiser John Brook said: "Everything is going to plan and we're just praying the weather will hold out.

"We had a great time last year despite the terrible weather and hope it will be an even better family event."

Children's entertainment, stalls and refreshments will also be on offer for motor-mad folk at the display.

The show will be open from 10am to 5pm each day and overnight camping is also available.

For more details, or to book tickets call Mr Brook on 01977 617327 or the show hotline on 0781 601 8291.
