A SIX-year-old boy was impaled on a branch after falling from a tree in Airedale.
The youngster had climbed the tree, at Park Dale, when he fell and a branch became embedded in his thigh, at about 8pm on Monday.

Firefighters from Castleford and a trauma team from Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield attended the scene and worked for more than an hour to free the boy.
The tree around his leg was cut away and he was transported to hospital with a four-inch branch still inside his leg.
