FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a blaze at the old Whitwood college site this morning (Sunday).
Crews from Castleford, Pontefract, Featherstone and Normanton arrived at the derelict building on Leeds Road at 6.50am.

They battled for three hours to stop the flames spreading to nearby buildings and to get the fire under control.

No one was in the building at the time.
