A TERRIFIED family fled their home after arsonists – who cut their car's petrol pipe to sniff fuel – triggered a raging blaze.
Flames leapt roof high and melted guttering and upstairs window frames as victim Teresa Thacker and her children slept upstairs at the semi-detached home on Monkhill Avenue in Pontefract.
Leeds Crown Court heard on Friday that Michael Boggett, Jamie Lindsey and Daniel Horsefall targeted the Vauxhall Astra parked on Mrs Thacker's drive on April 9.
Sentencing, Judge Paul Hoffman told them: "This was a highly dangerous offence which could have had potentially very serious, if not fatal consequences."
