BIG-HEARTED fundraisers are putting on a variety of events to raise cash for the BBC's annual Children In Need appeal this week.
Staff at Asda in Glass Houghton have organised a snowball fight between Pudsey bear – the cuddly face of Children In Need – and the penguin mascot for SnoZone on the slopes at Xscape at 11.45pm today.

Pudsey will also visit eight schools on Friday
when he tours the district in an open top Mercedes and a raffle will give one customer at the store a VIP shopping experience.

Castleford Male Voice Choir is also performing at the Leeds Road supermarket on Friday.

Students at Pontefract NEW College aim to prove they are fundraising stars with the final of their talent show on Friday.

Teachers are judging the 'New College Has Talent' contest and other events, including a raffle with signed rugby shirts as prizes, will take place to boost the appeal.

In Whitwood, Santa will meet youngsters at his grotto in the Palm Court pizzeria, behind The Rising Sun pub, between 3pm and 6pm from Friday November 20 to December 20.

For £4.95 adults will get a pizza while children will make their own pizza and receive a gift – a portion of the money will be donated to Children In Need.

Send your pictures of Children In Need events to editorial@pandcexpress.co.uk or bring them in to the news team at 12 Bank Street, Castleford, WF10 1HZ.
