A KNOTTINGLEY man has been charged by detectives investigating two linked sex attacks in West Yorkshire.
David Newton, 55, of Yew Tree Walk, was arrested on Tuesday in Cornwall after a four-day manhunt by officers from the force's homicide and major inquiry team.

Detectives charged Newton on Thursday night with the rape, indecent assault and abduction of a 16-year-old girl and the kidnap and false imprisonment of an 11-year-old boy in Halton, Leeds, in 1997.

He was also charged with the attempted murder and attempted rape of a 52-year-old woman on Ilkley Moor in 2006.
Newton was due to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday morning.
