Massive cannabis farm found

POLICE have discovered a cannabis farm containing 365 plants in a Knottingley house.
Officers from Pontefract and Knottingley NPT were responding to a report of a buglary at 8.40pm on Friday January 29, when they found the large cannabis factory on Grasmere Road, Knottingley.

The NPT also attended at another address in Knottingley where they uncovered a further 59 cannabis plants.

Insp Richard Sullivan, of the NPT, said: "Cultivation of cannabis is a criminal offence and for my team to seize more than 400 plants from these two sites is a great result.

"This police action came as a direct result of information from the local community.

"Residents told us what was happening and we responded with positive, prompt and effective action."

A police spokeswoman said three men were arrested on suspicion of burglary. One man has been cautioned, one released without charge and a juvenile was reprimanded.

A woman was arrested on supicion of the cultivation of class B drugs and released without charge.
