New officer joins team

A NEW superintendent has joined Wakefield district police.
Supt Alan Lees, who has been a police officer for 22 years, has joined the Wakefield division of West Yorkshire Police.

He joined the force at Horsforth and served in Leeds, rising to inspector, before moving to its Wakefield headquarters in 1995.

His career has taken him from local neighbourhood patrols and major investigations to work advising senior police officers on national issues.

Supt Lees said: “I am looking foward to getting to know the complexities of policing the Wakefield disctrict and using my experience to oversee the division’s reponse to issues inlcuding public confidence and customer satisfaction.

“I am delighted to be joining the team and delivering a policing service that people living in the district can be proud of.”
