A PEDESTRIAN who was hit by a motorcyclist in Castleford two weeks ago remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The 58-year-old was involved in an accident on Bridge Street at 9.30am on Tuesday September 23 when he was hit, while crossing the road, by a Suzuki motorbike.

The pedestrian – who was airlifted to Wakefield’s Pinderfields Hospital – was yesterday described as being in a critical condition.

Last week, the Express reported information given by the police that the 23-year-old motorbike rider involved in the collision was also in a critical condition in hospital.

This information was incorrect and he had actually already been released from hospital.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We can only apologise that incorrect information was given on the condition of the motorcyclist involved in this collision.

“We are now aware that he has been released from hospital, while the 58-year-old pedestrian remains in a critical condition at this time.”
