Pontefract man charged with rape

A PONTEFRACT man has been charged with 64 offences against children.


Robert Jackson, 49, of Northfield Avenue, Pontefract, has been charged with offences - which include several rapes of girls under 14 - alleged to have taken place in Manchester's Merseybank area.

The offences include gross indecency and indecent assault on females aged under 14 and several attempted rapes of females under 14.

He is due to appear before Manchester Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Greater Manchester Police said the offences allegedly took place between 1996 and 2004.
