THE family of a Pontefract man who died when mistakes were made after an operation say they hope "lessons will be learned".
John Wynn, ex-miner and former landlord of the town's Hope and Anchor Inn, died in Dewsbury and District Hospital in May 2006 ten days afer surgery to remove cancer from his oesophagus.

A two-day inquest heard Mr Wynn suffered massive blood loss after the operation because of a tear in his aorta and the subsequent emergency surgery did not happen quickly enough.

Full story in Thursday's Express.
