A PONTEFRACT man has been charged with 64 sexual offences against children.
Robert Alan Jackson, 49, of Northfield Avenue, Pontefract, was charged by police in Manchester with 64 offences – including several rapes and attempted rapes of girls under 14. Other charges included gross indecency and indecent assault on girls under 14.

The offences are alleged to have taken place from 1996 to 2004 in the Merseybank area of south Manchester.

He appeared at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody to appear at the city’s crown court later this month.
