BUDDING sports stars from Kippax Welfare Junior Rugby Club opened the £600,000 revamped Co-operative food store in the village.
The children – who led the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Main Street shop – also received £200 from the company to boost their club’s funds.
Roger Yeardley, manager, said: “As a community retailer it is appropriate that we involve the community in our special events and we are delighted our local rugby club could play a central role in the re-launch of our store.”
