A LORRY driver suffered head injuries when his vehicle got wedged under a low railway bridge.
The incident happened last Thursday near Royd Moor Lane on Doncaster Road, between the Ackworth roundabout and Badsworth.

Police and firefighters were called out at 12.10pm and the road was cordoned off.

The driver was not thought to have had serious injuries.

The accident delayed trains for almost an hour as Network Rail engineers examined the bridge.

A spokesman for Network Rail said: "There were scrapes and minor damage to the bridge. We got the line back at 1.05pm. It had minimal effects on rail travel."
