THE Salvation Army was established in Knottingley in May 1887 and to celebrate our 125th anniversary we are holding a special weekend in May of this year.
This is an open invitation to anyone with links to the corps to renew friendships, find out what has stayed the same but also what has changed, by coming along to the anniversary tea on Saturday May 12 and the services on Sunday May 13.
Our guests for the weekend will be Majors David and Margaret Bailey, who were commanding officers at Knottingley in the 1970s. On Saturday evening there will also be a programme by musicians from the Bradford Citadel corps.
We would also welcome memories and photographs of events in the past.
Anyone intending to come along, or who would like more details, should contact Lt Sandra Chamberlain on 01977 671103 or myself on 01977 792833.
