POLICE are cracking down on nuisance bikers after a large number of complaints were received from residents.
Pontefract and Knottingley neighbourhood policing team (NPT) said complaints were received at monthly PACT meetings in Ferrybridge, Darrington, Knottingley and Pontefract.
Sgt Dave Lockwood, from the NPT said: “It is a bit of nightmare at the moment because we are being told regularly about the noise problems these bikes cause in the quiet areas and also the damage they do to private farm land when the motorcyclists ride across the crops.
“We would like people to report to us if there are regular times that they see bikes go out, so we can stop them.
“We will not disclose your details, instead we will crack on with removing these nuisances from your area.”
To report a motorbike problem call the police on the non-emergency number 101.
