Eight-year-old Marcus Henderson-White had the lucky number, and on Friday he and his parents, along with staff went to Halfords in Pontefract to pick up his new wheels.

Halfords also donated a cycling helmet and bell to go with Marcus’ new bike.

The summer fair, on July 6, also included bric-a-brac, cakes, crafts and more, and raised money to buy new school equipment.

Teacher Louise Whitham said: “We want to thank all the volunteers who helped on the day, and to parents for their donations. We’d also like to thank all the local shops and businesses who made donations.”
